Day 1 Soccer Camp

Day 1 Soccer Camp

We kicked of the English soccer camp yesterday with a downpour. Just as the first session was to begin the heavens opened up and it rained hard! But the kids didn't care they ran out an played just like you would expect. After the rain the temperature cooled off from somewhere around 100+ to the mid 80s. That was perfect.

The training sessions went well and so did the night's Grand Opening ceremonies. I love the way our partners have a great balance of teaching, relationship building and spiritual development. You can see the intentionality at every step.

I haven't had a full voice for two weeks but when it was my time to teach and lead I had everything I needed. Thanks to those who are praying. Please keep it up. I have a persistent cough I'd love to lose. At the evening's eval we all agreed the first day went great.

I brought videos from Kyle Mullins and Bubba Gaeddert, two teachers from last year, and they were a hit. We used them to test their ESL skills. There is another set of videos we will use later to talk about life skills. I lead an ESL segment each day and devos at night.

Thanks for praying. The opportunities and stakes go up each day of the camp.

Gary
